Making A 9ct Gold Ring - Lost Wax Cast Process
Sunday, 28 June 2015
First of all we start off with a piece of jeweller's wax. This is much harder than candle wax, and can be carved, filed and worked on with a scalpel to form the shape of the finished ring. You can see this is the first 3 photographs.
The following 3 pictures show the ring in its rough gold form after it has first been cast, then after it has undergone a 5 stage filing, wet and dry and then polishing process to a mirror like finish. For a perfect finishing touch, in this particular ring we added a 0.86 Ct solitaire diamond - now that makes this a very special ring indeed.
Strongfields are proud to be working jewellers and are dedicated to utilising local talent and skills in our exclusive designs and creations. We believe our dedication to detail, and a willingness to always go that extra mile are what makes Strongfields unique. We are open 6 days a week and look forward to your visit.
